Is Hostmonster Right for Everyone?

A lot of people are searching for ways to save money on web hosting. I personally found a Hostmonster coupon and ended up using them respectively; in fact, it was just over a year ago now. Have I been pleased with their service? Well, let’s take a look at what they offer and what you should be looking for in any kind of webhosting service.

Web hosting has many different requirements for different kinds of people and businesses. A corporation that runs a massive online enterprise is going to have a different set of needs then your average “run of the mill” website. The point is, you have to figure out where you land in all of this.

Are you going to be creating a hobby website or a portfolio for yourself? If so, Hostmonster would be a good choice for you, since they offer shared hosting plans at a reasonable rate. Actually, I have found that any kind of shared hosting plan should serve even busy websites quite well. I can’t even think of a situation where an average website needed a dedicated server for what they were doing. The only time you would require a dedicated server is where your website is using up a ton of resources, either through ram or intensive CPU usage.

Customer service should also be a factor that is carefully considered. For any kind of webmaster who knows what they are doing, customer service tends to be on the back-burner of their mind. It is important to have a good tech support base though, because there is always an issue that you may not be able to solve. There have been a few times where I wanted to talk to somebody about an issue that I thought I had resolved, or just for the purpose of getting in touch with tech support. If you are considering a host that doesn’t give any great service, you may want to think twice about using them.

The only other features which are critical to me in a hosting provider include bandwidth, disk space, and server speed. This is addition to price and customer service of course. The amount of bandwidth a site can handle is important, but not an absolute requirement for newer or smaller sites. Your average website only uses 2GB of bandwidth per month anyways, so most hosts should be adequate in what they provide. Disk space is also a big issue for larger sites and those websites that utilize databases which have to contain information on thousands or millions of products, users, and so on.

The bottom line is simple; always do your research before you buy. It will save you a headache later on in life. A properly fitted webhost (to your needs) will serve you well for years to come. In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with Hostmonster if you run an average website. They have great uptime and although there is the downside of no dedicated server, you shouldn’t require one anyways unless you are making a lot of money already.

Finding the Spider’s Web

In the forest deep within the Jungle I looked for a spider’s web that I could then claim to be my own. I looked long and hard. I had to climb mountains and drudge through swamps. I continued my journey until I reached to top of the highest mountain where there was still green vegetation. In the thick of the branches hidden away in the jungle was a single amazing spider web design. I thought that this would be it. That this would be the one and only. True and Amazing. Spider’s web that I would call my own. Then I sneezed and the spider’s web was not more. The design was lost in a sea of snot and mucus. I was devastated and I could not bear the thought that I destroyed something so amazing. So I threw myself from the top of the mountain and landed on a billy goat.
